NEW YORK STUDY TOUR

DM 400 - US Travel, New York City

In the spring semester of every other academic year (odd years), the Department of Design and Merchandising invites students to participate in DM 400, a study tour of New York City. Students visit firms in the apparel and interior business and also tour museums and other New York City attractions. The trip provides a first-hand opportunity for students to (a) comprehend in a holistic sense how various aspects of the New York apparel and interior markets operate, (b) synthesize information from industry professionals and apply knowledge gained from courses to understand how segments of the industry complement one another, and (c) analyze and evaluate strategies used by New York firms to conduct their business.
